My visit to Bright Flight Paragliding

This story will help me feel comfortable, informed, and excited about my visit to Bright Flight Paragliding.

Welcome to Bright Flight!

When I visit Bright Flight Paragliding, I’ll have a fun and safe experience. It’s located in Bright, Victoria, a beautiful town surrounded by mountains. The meeting point is at 179-189 Morses Creek Road, Bright VIC 3741.

You will see our sign at the edge of the landing paddock just passed the big windsock, if you are coming out of the direction of Bright.

Getting There

I can travel to Bright by car or public transport. If I drive, there is parking available near the meeting point. If I use public transport, I can check local bus and train services to plan my trip. To get the meeting place it is either a 30-40 minute walk or have a chat to us about possible other options.

What to Expect When I Arrive

When I arrive, I’ll meet friendly people who will help me feel welcome. The instructors will greet me and explain what we’ll do. I’ll see colourful paragliders and equipment. Everyone will be happy to answer my questions.

What Happens Before the Flight

Before we fly, the instructor will drive me to launch site on Mystic Mountain, which will take approximately 15 minutes. The road up to launch is a dirt road, so it may be bumpy and dusty.

The walk from the car to the launch is about 20m and is uneven in places with rocks.

They will give me a safety briefing and there may be other people and equipment and the sounds of nature in the background. They’ll explain how the equipment works and what I need to do. I’ll wear a harness and helmet to keep me safe. The instructor will make sure I’m comfortable and ready.

Bathroom

There is a bathroom at the launch site which can be accessed via an uneven path and has steps to enter. The bathroom entry is difficult to navigate so I should use the bathroom at home or in town before my experience if needed.

During the Flight

I’ll fly tandem with an experienced instructor. We might choose from different flight options:

Top to Bottom: A gentle 10-minute flight from the top of Mystic Mountain to the landing zone.
High Flight: A 25-30 minute flight where we climb in thermals and enjoy views of Bright and the surrounding mountains.
Cross Country: A 50-60 minute adventure flying over Mystic and nearby peaks, possibly soaring with birds like wedge-tailed eagles.

During the flight, I’ll feel the breeze and see amazing views. The instructor will control the paraglider, and I can relax and enjoy the experience.

After the Flight

When we land, I’ll thank the instructor for the flight. I might feel proud and excited about what I accomplished. There will be time to talk about the flight, ask any questions and I will receive some digital photographs of my experience.

Bright Flight is for Everyone

Bright Flight welcomes people from 10 years of age upwards and can support people of most abilities. There may be some access limitations associated with the flight, and your instructor can discuss these pending your needs.

The instructors are experienced and patient, ensuring everyone feels safe and included. I’m excited to visit Bright Flight and have a wonderful time experiencing the joy of paragliding.
